Natural and Easy Tricks in Dealing With Toothache in Children
As an adult, maybe one time in your life you have already experienced the pain of the toothache, and anyone who felt the pain of it swore and prayed not to go through that agonizing pain ever again.
Now, imagine if one of your kids experiences the agonizing pain of a toothache. Seeing your kid writhe in pain is so heart-breaking that is why it is important that you are always ready not only with the medicines but also with the skills that will be needed in dealing with toothache effectively.

Dealing with toothache in children can be difficult especially if the attack of pain happens at night; this could mean sleepless nights not only for your kid but for you as well. The hardest part is, and it happens all the time, kids often have the tendency to refuse any kind of medication for fear that the pain will only worsen. When it comes to dealing with toothache, it is significant that you spring into action right away but you have to do it gently so to avoid triggering the fright that your child is feeling towards the pain of toothache.

Usually, a toothache happens when there is a searing pain around or inside the tooth. However, when your child tells you about the pain in his or her mouth, the first thing that you have to do is to inspect it carefully because sometimes the pain can be caused by other factors such as gingivitis or other common mouth sore. Ask the help of your child to pinpoint the exact location of the tooth that is aching. You also have to check on the surroundings of the gums and within the cheeks and see if there are some forms of swelling around the area – those are the signs of mouth sore. However, if you do not see inflammation in the gums or inside the cheeks, it is safe to conclude that your child is indeed experiencing a toothache.

Ideally, the first thing that you should do is to have your child checked by a dentist. But if the situation does not permit you to do this, dealing with toothache while at home is also very possible.

The most common remedies in dealing with toothache that can be found in your home are clove, garlic and cashew. The oil of these ingredients has a potent healing substance that can kill the bacteria that causes the pain in the tooth. Just gently apply any of these in the affected area until the pain has finally gone away.

Cold cucumber or potato will also do the trick in terms of dealing with toothache. It is the cold that will take away the pain so it is important that you keep the piece of potato or cucumber in the affected tooth while it is still cold. The leaf of the mint is another thing that can help you in dealing with toothache; put a dried leaf of mint inside the tooth and then let your child spit out the discharge once in a while until he or she feels comfortable already.
